Golden Nuggets: News And NFL Combine

Well, I think it is safe to say the two weeks after the Super Bowl can officially be categorized as the most boring of the calendar year. Once the Super Bowl wrapped up, the NFL went into a modest hibernation until yesterday when teams could begin applying their franchise tags. Nobody actually placed the tag, but it seemed like rumors started to pick up once the date was reached. Add in Stanford Routt making his decision to sign with the Kansas City Chiefs and the dominos have begun falling. Add in the return of baseball in spring training and heated up conference basketball and things are picking up quite nicely.

Tomorrow the NFL Combine gets going with the first group of players reporting. Very little significant, hard news comes out of the Combine, but enough happens to keep us intrigued. And it propels us to free agency, which gets us to the draft. Things slow down after that, but at least then we'll be less than three months away from the start of training camp. Tick tock! Tick tock!
