Stephen Hill, Kendall Wright Among 49ers Visitors & Will Attend NFL Draft

Late yesterday, Matt Barrows reported that Georgia Tech wide receiver Stephen Hill is scheduled to visit with the 49ers this weekend. The 49ers were the only team not to attend the Georgia Tech Pro Day on March 6, but now they will get an up close and personal look at the speedy receiver. Shortly after the Hill report, Barrows reported the team hosted Kendall Wright yesterday.

The 49ers will host plenty of players this month, but it does not provide a ton of insight into eventual draft picks. Last year they did draft Colin Kaepernick after spending time with him, but they did not host Aldon Smith. In fact, they managed to disguise their interest in him quite well. The team had people at the Missouri Pro Day last season, and a lot of folks thought it was to watch Blaine Gabbert. Not so fast....

The 49ers have been connected with Hill quite a bit in recent weeks, and wide receivers in general. Of course, we all know Harbaalke is going to keep us on our toes in two weeks. I suppose they could decide Hill or another wide receiver is the pick, but just when you think they'll zig, they zag.

It is worth noting that Hill and Wright are two of the 26 players invited to attend the 2012 NFL Draft later this month. You can view a full rundown of the players planning to attend. Just a reminder that the first round gets started at 5:00 p.m. PT on Thursday, April 26. NFL Network and ESPN will provide full coverage of all three days.
