After months of waiting, the 2012 NFL schedule is officially official and we can start spending the next three months mindlessly breaking down the 49ers 2012 schedule. There are a million and one things to discuss in regards to the 49ers schedule, but for now I wanted to just get the schedule up with a few quick thoughts. I like the idea of opening the season against the Green Bay Packers. In the recent past it seems like we've seen the 49ers face the Cardinals or Seahawks. Those are pertinent matchups, but obviously the Packers re more high profile, and present a bigger challenge. Week one does not allow for a lot of conclusions about the season, but when you play one of the favorites in the conference, you learn something about yourself.
The 49ers will be playing in primetime for five games including home games against the Detroit Lions (SNF), Seattle Seahawks (TNF) and Chicago Bears (MNF). They will travel to the Arizona Cardinals (MNF) and New England Patriots (SNF). It is worth noting that Sunday night game against the Patriots will be on December 16 in Foxboro. It might be a wee bit chilly.
