Golden Nuggets: Former 49er Cleveland Elam Passes Away

Hi guys. Getting in late here in Phoenix after a cancellation and having to drive to another airport just to catch a flight tonight. I'm here visiting my childhood friend that I've known since I was 7. So, I'll be brief and to the point. You'll get the same from me for Sunday morning's Nuggets as I'll be flying home late. It's hard work being cheap, but someone's got to do it. Off to see the Grand Canyon tomorrow. My misses has never seen the world's biggest hole in the ground. Should be fun. On to the news.

The main news from yesterday was the passing of former 49er All-Pro DE Cleveland Elam. He passed away at the age of 60. He was a member of the famed "Gold Rush" DL that tormented opposing QBs in the late 70's. He was voted All-Pro in 1977 and made the Pro Bowl in '76 and '77. Injuries cut his career short in 1979. | Cleveland Elam passes away. (49ers.com)
