Golden Nuggets: Colin Kaepernick, A.J. Jenkins, Cam Johnson Top The 49ers Day

The Nuggets were a bit delayed but I wanted to make sure you all got a chance to check out all the news that's fit to read today. Although rookie practices are closed to the media this week, there is still player availability and news to cover. Colin Kaepernick and A.J. Jenkins had some comments, which means we have several articles from the beat writers covering what they had to say.

The most interesting news in my mind is the return of Cam Johnson. He had a clean-up procedure on his knee earlier in the offseason, but thankfully it looks like he is good to go for the start of training camp. He wasn't included on any of the training camp injury lists and got in a pre-training camp practice on Tuesday. He apparently is still doing some rehab work, but he seems to be coming along.

Joe Looney is opening camp on the PUP list, but as Matt Barrows stated, "it appears as if Looney is nearing the end of his rehabilitation from a Lisfranc (foot) injury." There are not any more specifics on Looney's situation, but that would seem to be a positive at this point. The Lisfranc injury is a tough one to figure out, and the 49ers are hopefully being conservative with Looney. Alex Boone would seem close to locked in at right guard, but Looney is potentially more of a long-term answer at the position.
