Golden Nuggets: Frank Gore's Guy Won

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. I found a fantastic new bar in Washington, DC. It doesn't have a name because they're trying to figure out a name following a cease-and-desist order from a similarly named bar (Barcade) outside of DC. If you happen to be in Washington, DC, starting Tuesday, head down to H Street NE between 12th and 13th. The bar used to be called Fruit Bat and was connected to Church and State. This Tuesday, the new bar opens up and will have various 1980s and early '90s arcade games to play. I stopped by for the soft opening today and highly recommend it if you're in DC.

Saturday was a quiet day, but 49ers running back Frank Gore did get in the news, as he accompanied Nonito Donaire to the ring for his super bantamweight championship fight. Donaire won a unanimous decision, with the ringside judges handing him a 119-108, 118-109, 117-10 decision. The folks at Bad Left Hook have their own thoughts on the fight.

It has been an incredibly quiet day of football. The folks at Yahoo! via Pro Football Weekly took a look at Alex Smith's comments to the media this past week.

In divisional news (more to come), the Rams are apparently having some negotiation issues because Jeff Fisher wants Janoris Jenkins to look into a financial advisor. That makes sense, but I'm curious to see how it plays out in negotiations.
