Tomorrow marks the start of the 2012 NFL preseason as the Arizona Cardinals will face the New Orleans Saints in the 2012 Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio. The festivities get going today however with the Hall of Fame induction ceremony at 4:00pm PT on NFL Network and ESPN.
The class of 2012 features Jack Butler, Dermontti Dawson, Chris Doleman, Cortez Kennedy, Curtis Martin and Willie Roaf. While there aren't any prominent 49ers in this year's class, Chris Doleman did get a few years in with the 49ers. Doleman is best known for his years with the Minnesota Vikings, but he spent three seasons with the 49ers from 1996 to 1998. During that time he compiled 38 sacks in 48 games. So, congratulations to Doleman and the rest of the class.
The annual ceremony also gives us a chance to discuss the various players that have been snubbed. SB Nation's Matt Ufford put together a rundown of two prominent snubs (video after the jump). Personally I think Roger Craig deserves a little more love. I don't know if he'll ever get in, but his ability in the rushing and passing attack was the predecesor to the Marshall Faulk and Ladanian Tomlinson's of the world. I don't know if it will ever be enough to get in the Hall of Fame, but I think he deserves a little more credit as a great in this league.
