Earlier this afternoon, the 49ers conducted their first practice since roster cuts, which will also be their only practice until Tuesday. The players will have tomorrow and Monday off, and then really go to town on Tuesday in preparation for the Packers.
According to the beat writers in attendance (@Eric_Branch, @CamInman, @CGin49ers, @MaioccoCSN, @MattBarrows), Mario Manningham, Brandon Jacobs, Ted Ginn Jr. and Parys Haralson were all absent from the start of practice. Demarcus Dobbs, on crutches earlier in the week, was back at practice this afternoon, although according to Barrows it was in a black no-contact jersey. The 49ers allow media to observe the beginning of practice, but not the entire session.
It will be interesting to see how the 49ers handle their outside linebacker position if Haralson is unable to go next week. The team only kept three OLBs, with Dobbs as a potential fourth. He'll get two more days off, so we'll see what Tuesday brings for his participation. The 49ers will release their first official practice participation report next Wednesday, so we'll see what that brings.
