Most previews of the 49ers heading into the 2012 season approached the season as one of potential regression based on everything from the 49ers monster turnover differential to their quality health in 2011. Well, the 49ers won the turnover battle 1-0 and was able to stay mostly healthy (minus a Joe Staley busted nose).
There is a lot of football left to be played, so historical trends still have some time to remain in play. For now though, I am pretty comfortable with this team and the direction they are heading. Going into Lambeau Field and securing a win strikes me as a strong shot fired in the direction of statistical regression! We'll see if the team can keep it up in Week 2.
