Giants Vs. Panthers: Thursday Night Football Open Thread

The Giants and Panthers get together tonight to kick off Week 3 of the 2012 NFL season. I am anticipating a shootout, which likely means we're in line for a 17-13 snoozer. I have been advising people to start Brandon LaFell in their fantasy leagues so hopefully he'll make me look good tonight.

The 49ers face the Giants in a few weeks, but would only face the Panthers in a potential playoff matchup. Right now I'm not really sure what to make of the Panthers. They dropped a tough road game in Tampa Bay and then won a shootout over New Orleans. I was high on the Bucs coming into the season, but I'm still not sure whether they will be legit or not. So basically, I have no idea what to make of the NFC North after Atlanta.

As for the Giants? They seemed ready to get one foot in the grave last week before storming back to beat the Bucs. The Giants are a team nobody can count out until the final whistle is blown and they are finished. They're like the Jason Voorhees of the NFL.
