Week 3 NFL Afternoon Thread

The afternoon NFL schedule features some sizable matchups, but since there remains plenty to discuss about the 49ers ugly game, I thought I'd set up a separate thread for PM football discussion. Use this thread for discussion of the afternoon games, and our prior and subsequent threads for 49ers discussion. We'll have a Sunday Night Football thread later tonight.

This afternoon schedule includes a strong slate of games. The Cardinals and Eagles square off in an unexpected matchup of 2-0 teams. It is still too early for me to declare the Cardinals "for real", but this game would go a long way. The Eagles are an up and down 2-0 team, but I think a win over the Eagles would be a big one for Arizona. It would raise them a notch in the battle for the NFC West.

The Chargers host the Falcons in another battle of undefeated teams. Although the Falcons struggled late against the Broncos, they remain a top contender in the NFC. The Chargers are a three-point favorite in this game and somehow seem to be going against the grain of poor starting Norv Turner teams. Are the Chargers for real, or will they just stumble later now?

The AFC-only matchups feature the Steelers at the Raiders and the Texans at the Broncos.
