The closer we get to Sunday's game against the New York Jets, the more confident I seem to be getting, which is odd because I fell back down to earth hard after the Week 3 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. The most important thing the 49ers can do on Sunday is to have a simple gameplan, execute it, and make sure Week 3 goes down as a "stupid loss," and not the game that sparked a losing skid.
Momentum is something I'll never put too much stock in, but the Arizona Cardinals have yet another easy game on their hands in the Miami Dolphins on Sunday and could wind up with a 4-0 record. Perhaps there's a little NFC West insecurity on my part, but after making that jump from terrible team to 13-3 in one season, we're just as susceptible to make the same step backwards in one season. It's a scary thought, no?
