And we're back for another week of playoff football! The 49ers and Falcons meet up in the 2013 NFC Championship Game with the winner advancing to Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans, where they'll meet the winner of Sunday afternoon's Patriots-Ravens game.
The 49ers are a favorite, and given the history of conference championship games, as sizable a favorite as one can be at -4 1/2. I do believe the 49ers are the better team heading into this game, but I also know the better overall team does not always win in the NFL. The predictions range far and wide in terms of score, but most think the 49ers are the team to beat in this one.
The 49ers have not exactly excelled in the role of favorite, so we'll see how they come out in this one. They need to avoid a flat start as they do not play particularly well from behind. They need to stop Michael Turner and Jacquizz Rodgers, and then simply contain the Falcons potent passing attack. That is not small task, but it will be a necessary one to get one step closer to Lombardi No. 6.

49ers vs. Falcons Odds
The 49ers opened as three point favorites, and the line quickly went up, climbing as high as five points in some places. It is now in the four to five point range, making the Falcons the biggest home underdog in the NFC Championship Game since 1978. That just about says it all in this matchup.
