And just like that, the Super Bowl matchup is set. We'll have a whole host of analysis and news-breakdown, but for now I wanted to just get up some basic info in case people were curious.

Super Bowl XLVII will be going down in New Orleans at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, with kickoff scheduled for approximately 3:30 p.m. PT. It is usually a random time, so we'll get that clarified as we get closer. The game will be broadcast on CBS, which means we get a whole bunch of Jim Nantz and Phil Simms. Not exactly what I prefer for the Super Bowl, but what are you gonna do?

This is an intriguing matchup that provides a chance for some fresh blood to insert themselves into the NFL narrative. Ray Lewis and Harbaugh vs. Harbaugh might dominate things, but smart football fans (read: many of you here!) know that this game is about so much more. For your random fact, this is the first Super Bowl since the 2002 season that will not feature Tom Brady, the Manning Brothers or Ben Roethlisberger. We instead get Colin Kaepernick vs. Joe Flacco. Not too bad.

Even though the Ravens defense is not quite what it once was, they still can bring the wood, and this will be a physical game. These two teams engaged in a physical, some might say incredibly ugly, 16-6 Ravens victory over Thanksgiving last year. While I think we'll still see strong defense, I also think two weeks between now and then will allow for a slightly more aesthetically pleasing game. Well, at least I hope so!
