The Super Bowl is still 12 days away, but we are starting to get some different betting options aside from just the game. The line on the game has settled in at 49ers as four point favorites, but having opened at 49ers -5, there is a decent amount of money coming in on the Ravens.
The first significant betting option, well, after the coin toss, is the Super Bwl MVP. It should surprise nobody that the two starting quarterbacks are sizable favorites right now. Whether it is fair or not, the winning quarterback is often the MVP of the game. 25 of the 46 Super Bowl MVPs have gone to the winning quarterback, including the last three to Eli Manning, Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees.
Ray Lewis follows the quarterbacks, which again is not surprising. Only eight defensive players have claimed Super Bowl MVP, but I can't imagine many were in Lewis' situation of retiring after the game as a sure-fire Hall of Famer.
