Super Bowl 2013: Niners Nation is headed to New Orleans and needs your help!

New, comments

Niners Nation is headed to New Orleans for the Super Bowl. The time has come to open the floor for ideas on how best to utilize our time, particularly on Media Day.

As the headline says, and the accompanying picture shows, your fearless leader is headed down to New Orleans for the Super Bowl! This is my first trip to New Orleans and the first time I'll be attending a Super Bowl. Odds are high that this will go down as one of the greatest weeks of my life. Odds are also creeping up that I might not survive that Sunday night/early Monday morning. Just a heads-up if it's unusually quiet here the day after the Super Bowl.

I'm heading down to New Orleans on Monday and will be spending a week there, leaving the following Monday afternoon. That means I'll get to engage in a full week of Super Bowl build-up, including Media Day on Tuesday, radio row all week, and a whole assortment of other activities leading up to Super Bowl 47.

Since I realize 99.9% of 49ers fans will not be in attendance, I want to do everything I can to give you a taste of my own experience. I'll be shooting a lot of video, including my time at Media Day and what Radio Row is really like. The folks at Pat O'Brien's down near Bourbon Street have given me permission to shoot some video in there, so I'm going to try and do some stuff with any 49ers fans I can find in there. It's not the same as being there, but hopefully you all will be able to live a little bit vicariously through me.

Speaking of Media Day, that will be going down on Tuesday. The 49ers will be first from 10am to 11am CT, and the Ravens will follow from 12:15-1:15. I'm going to bring a Flip Cam with me to get some video, but also I want to make sure and get some questions in.

The higher profile names will be swamped, whether that be Jim Harbaugh, Colin Kaepernick, Frank Gore or Patrick Willis, among many others. I'd like to focus in on players and coaches that might be a little less swamped by media. I'll have another open thread that morning, but for now, do you have specific players and coaches (on both the 49ers and Ravens) from who you'd like me to try and get a quote or two? List names and questions you might like asked. Obviously I can't guarantee anything, but I'll take what I can from this list and see what I can come up with at the wild insanity that is Media Day.
