SNF open thread: Washington vs. Cowboys

Washington and Dallas square off on Sunday Night Football. We break down some of the implications, and open a thread for discussion.

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

Sunday Night Football features an NFC East showdown with the 2-3 Dallas Cowboys hosting 1-3 Washington. Neither defense is anything to write home about, which could make for a very entertaining shootout. We've got two great quarterbacks going at it, so I'm hoping we see some fireworks.

What's most interesting about this is that even with the two teams scuffling under .500, both are very much in the thick of the NFC East race. If the Cowboys win, they will move into a tie for first with the 3-3 Eagles. If Washington wins, they will be 1/2 game back of the Eagles, while Dallas will be a full game back. Welcome to the NFC Least!

This thread will be strictly for Sunday Night Football chatter. We have plenty of other places for 49ers chatter, including our initial recap thread.
