The 4-2 San Francisco 49ers will head out to Nashville later this week for their Week 7 matchup with the 3-3 Tennessee Titans. The line opened late Sunday evening, and the 49ers currently sit as four point favorites. It is interesting to note that the line appears to have opened at six, and quickly slid down to four. I imagine it will lock in somewhere around there.
We'll have plenty of content with our friends at Music City Miracles (join now!), but I thought we'd use this odds post to take a quick initial look at Tennessee. The Titans are 3-3 and dealing with their share of injuries and drama. Kenny Britt remains a headache, as the team seems intent on dealing the talented but inconsistent performer.
The big news though has been some recent injuries. Jake Locker is out with a hip and knee injury. He suffered the injury against the Jets, and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks. His return is still probably a couple weeks off. Ryan Fitzpatrick has been starting in Locker's place. While Fitzpatrick is not a particularly great quarterback, he's done what he can to keep his team in games.
Of course, it's been more about the Titans defense keeping them in games. It has not been a great unit, but it's been solid enough. Unfortunately for Tennessee, they have a potential problem with middle linebacker Moise Fokou. The fifth year linebacker suffered a sprained knee on Sunday. The team is reportedly optimistic it is only a sprained knee, but that could keep their second-leading tackler off the field this Sunday. I believe Colin McCarthy would step in for Fokou if he is unable to play this Sunday.
