On Glenn Dorsey's injury and the NFL transaction report

49ers defensive lineman Glenn Dorsey is recovering from a hamstring injury. The 49ers did not make any roster moves on Tuesday, which bodes well for the health of Dorsey's hamstring. New to Niners Nation? Sign up here and join the discussion!

Each day, the NFL posts a rundown of all transactions for the day at 1 p.m. PT. This includes everything from players waived or released to trades to players promoted from the practice squad. As the 49ers figure out their situation with Glenn Dorsey and his injured hamstring, Matt Barrows made a good point this afternoon:

The 49ers still have several days to make transactions, but the one transaction we might have seen today was either the signing of a free agent defensive lineman, or the promotion of Mike Purcell from the practice squad. Instead, the 49ers held steady with their current roster. Quinton Dial and Tank Carradine return to practice this week, but until they are actually activated to the 53-man roster, they will not appear on the transaction report.

Earlier today, Vic Fangio appeared on KNBR, and indicated the team did not think the injury was as bad as expected. He said they would not know for certain until later this week. But this combined with the lack of transactions has to bode well. Oh, and Dorsey did send this tweet Monday morning:

It was sent at around 10 a.m., so he might have gotten his first check-up on the hamstring. We have no idea, but all of these things together hopefully mean good news for Glenn Dorsey as the team prepares for the Tennessee Titans.
