Week 7 NFL picks against the spread

We're back for another week of NFL picks against the spread. I continue to struggle at or below the .500 mark, finishing last week 7-8 against the spread. I've got my work cut out for me if I'm going to get back to and above .500 this season. James from Cover32 Raiders and I are back with another week of picks.

The San Francisco 49ers travel to face the Tennessee Titans, and the 49ers are installed as 4 1/2 point favorites. The line had opened at six, dropped to four, and climbed that half point recently. The 49ers face a tough road contest against a Titans team that is not great by any means, but is doing some decent things. The big thing in their favor is the turnover differential. The Titans are second in the league in turnover differential at +8, and will look to continue building on that.

The Titans offense is struggling mightily, so every turnover is huge for both setting them up as close as possible to the end zone, and keeping the ball in their own hands. Given the 49ers question marks along the defensive line, I think we can expect the Titans offense to do what it can to keep the ball out of Ryan Fitzpatrick's hands where possible. Chris Johnson has struggled to do much of anything, but I have to think the Titans will attack the 49ers gut with reckless abandon. If the 49ers can protect the ball and contain the Titans running game, they should be able to cover this spread.
