49ers general manager Trent Baalke was on the Bucher & Towny show on 95.7 The Game yesterday afternoon, and he had a chance to discuss the defensive line situation.
At the 1:40 mark on that link, the hosts went right into some discussion of Quinton Dial. They asked if Dial would see playing time this weekend, and Baalke stated that there was a "strong possibility" of that happening. He said the team would not know until game-time whether or not Glenn Dorsey and Ray McDonald would play. McDonald seems to be a strong possibility to play, while Dorsey is a big question mark.
Baalke did also reference Mike Purcell after talking about Dial. The question led into Dial directly, so I don't know that we can necessarily take this as a stronger indication in Dial's favor. Whatever the case, any roster move will happen later today. Quinton Dial could be activated off the NFI list, or the team could sign Mike Purcell from the practice squad. For now, we are left to wait and wonder.
