The San Francisco 49ers returned to practice Wednesday, and given that they're in England, practice is already underway. That means injury reports will be coming before many of you even get to lunch! Given that I normally am dealing with this stuff at dinner time on the east coast, I'm kind of looking forward to this.
The big news today is that Eric Reid and Donte Whitner are both in full pads at practice. According to Eric Branch, Reid is wearing a wrap on his hand.
Coach Harbaugh informed the assembled media that he thought they would both be fine, and this is a big step in the right direction. It would not surprise me to see them listed as "limited participation" given the recent injuries. But even with that designation, it sounds like they should be playing this Sunday.
The 49ers are spending the next few days in Watford, which is 20 miles north of London in Hertfordshire. They are staying at a local resort called The Grove, which is where they stayed in 2010. The 49ers will practice there Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. They will then re-locate closer to Wembley Stadium after practice on Friday. Here is a quick shot of the setup for practice:
