The San Francisco 49ers visit this week to London has brought out several 49ers legends to help promote this game, and the NFL as a whole. Joe Montana is among those in London this week, and he took some time to work with quarterbacks earlier today.
According to the NFL, participation in amateur American football has risen 15 percent per year since 2007, when the International Series first began. According to Matt Barrows (link above), the British University College and Sport (governs university athletics) recognized American football, and there are now nearly 75 colleges and universities that have an American football team.
Speaking of Montana, he will be taking part in a Twitter Q&A with the @NFL_UK twitter account. Montana will be using the account Friday at 12:30 p.m. London time, which happens to be 4:30 a.m. PT. If you happen to be awake at that point, check it out. You can ask questions of Montana by including the hashtag #AskJoe.
