Week 8 SNF open thread: Vikings vs. Packers

We take a look at Sunday Night Football, and open a thread for discussion. New to Niners Nation? Sign up here and join the discussion!

The NFC is featured in prime time on Sunday Night Football AND Monday Night Football. SNF features the 1-5 Minnesota Vikings hosting the 4-2 Green Bay Packers. MNF features the 3-4 St. louis Rams hosting the 6-1 Seattle Seahawks.

The Vikings are a bit of a mess right now as they are swapping quarterbacks a little too frequently. It looked like they were going to hand the reigns to Josh Freeman, but a concussion has him on the sideline. Christian Ponder has struggled all season, but in last year's regular season finale against the Packers, Ponder completed 16 of 28 passes for 234 yards and three touchdowns. Can he do it again? Will the Vikings remember they have Adrian Peterson in the background?

The Packers are short in the passing game due to numerous injuries. Randall Cobb, James Jones and Jermichael Finley are all out. Aaron Rodgers should be able to make some plays anyway, but the degree of difficulty increases a little bit.
