Week 8 comes to a close tonight with a huge NFC West matchup on the docket. The 3-4 St. Louis Rams host the 6-1 Seattle Seahawks, in a game that falls the same night as the St. Louis Cardinals host Game 5 of the World Series. I imagine traffic is a little bit of a mess in St. Louis.
The Seahawks currently hold a half game lead over the 49ers, while the Rams are 2 1/2 back of San Francisco. The Rams have been inconsistent in a season in which they were hoping to take a noticeable step forward. Instead, they now find themselves without quarterback Sam Bradford who is done for the season. Kellen Clemens gets the start in prime time against a tough Seahawks defense.
Seattle is looking to maintain their one-game lead over the 49ers and match the 49ers road win in St. Louis. Even though the Rams have serious question marks, division games sometimes have a way of surprising us. Or at least that's what I'm telling myself in the hopes that the Rams can figure out a way to swing the upset.
