Golden Nuggets: Seahawks win, 49ers enter bye week

49ers links for Tuesday, October 29, 2013

Bob Martin-USA TODAY Sports

Sorry for the delay on the Nuggets. Last night was a wild one in St. Louis. The Seattle Seahawks barely escaped with a win over the St. Louis Rams. The Seahawks remain in first place, but are clearly a different team on the road than they are at home.

The 49ers enter their bye week at a particularly good time. The team is not ravaged by injuries, but they are pretty banged up. The entire starting defensive line is playing, but they all have been listed as questionable on the recent injury reports. A few days off will hopefully get them in better position for the second half of the season. Additionally, the team will likely bring three guys off the PUP and NFI lists over the next ten days. This gives the coaching staff and front office some time to go back over the film as they decide who to release to make room.

Speaking of which, the trade deadline is today at 1 p.m. PT. The 49ers are likely working the phones to try and move some players from the bottom of their roster to open up roster spots for some of these returns. The NFL trade deadline is generally fairly inactive, but maybe the 49ers can swing some deals.
