Fooch's Note: We've got your Week 5 inactive report. Some big names on it.
The San Francisco 49ers play their third nationally televised prime time game of the season in Week 5, as they face the Houston Texans. NBC coverage means virtually anybody with a television in America gets to watch the game. Just as important though, is that playing on NBC also means there will be a free, legal online stream of the game if you are without a television.
For some time now, NBC and the NFL have worked out a deal where all Sunday Night Football games are streamed live and free via SNF All Access on NBCSports.com. Unfortunately it is ONLY available in the United States and U.S. territories. And it is only for Sunday Night Football. The Super Bowl will be available via online stream, but other games are not.
Even if you watch the game on television, SNF All Access provides additional value to your viewing experience. Among other things, the game features multiple camera angles you can access during the game. The online service also features DVR functionality and a variety of analysis through NBC personalities.
Let's hope the NFL eventually works its way toward streaming options for all NFL action.
