The San Francisco 49ers lost another player Sunday afternoon, as left guard Mike Iupati left with an injury to his left leg. Frank Gore was tackled on a run play and rolled up the back of Iupati's leg. It appears to be the same knee that caused problems for Iupati last week. The 49ers have already ruled Iupati out for the remainder of the game.
Adam Snyder has come on in place of Iupati. Snyder is the team's primary utility offensive lineman, ahead of Daniel Kilgore. Snyder can play all five positions on the offensive line. He previously was the team's starting right guard before leaving for a year in Arizona. Alex Boone replaced him at right guard. Snyder returned this year to fill in as needed. He also gets some time as an extra lineman when they go to their heavy sets.
Iupati's knee has been an issue since last week. He was taken to the locker room on a cart, so we'll see what this means for the coming days heading into Week 12.
