Akiem Hicks sacks Matt Ryan in same manner as Ahmad Brooks did Drew Brees, no flag

Will we see a fine for this one?

Since Sunday, we've all been up in arms over Ahmad Brooks flag and fine for his sack of Drew Brees. The officials ruled it a personal foul because Brooks' arm hit Brees' neck, and Brooks was fined $15,750 for the hit.

Sometimes you just know that somebody out there has a sense of humor. In the second quarter of Thursday Night Football, New Orleans Saints defensive lineman Akiem Hicks came barely at Matt Ryan and sacked him. If you watch the video above, you can see him clearly grab hold of Ryan's helmet. It's even worse than Brooks' play because Brooks had a worse angle and that likely impacted his ability to get his arm down. And naturally, no flag on this play.

I have to think Hicks will be fined, but we'll keep an eye out and see if the league shows any consistency in fines. In the meantime, Mike Pereira, this play apparently is not quite called 10 times out of 10.
