Week Thirteen College Football Open Thread: LSU, Texas A&M, Baylor, Oklahoma State

We take a look at the sleight of games today and some of the prospects in them.

Thomas Campbell-USA TODAY Sports

The college football season is flying by, and time is running out for teams to get to the ranking they want to be at. Today features five games where both opponents are ranked. There's no doubt this is a good week of college football, with fireworks ready to blast off.

Kicking things off when it comes to the "big games", LSU and Texas A&M square off. Not only does this game feature a Heisman favorite in Johnny Manziel, it has a couple top tier receivers as well. Nick Chiamardas has Texas A&M's Mike Evans at No. 1 and LSU's Odell Beckham at No. 5 in Niners Nation's first WR prospect rankings of the year. As we have witnessed thus far this season, better depth at wide receiver is important. Watch this game to keep an eye out on both of these players, as a lot of fans will be putting them on their draft wish list.

The game of the week on ABC will feature undefeated No. 4 Baylor at one loss No. 10 Oklahoma State. Watch Oklahoma State cornerback Justin Gilbert in this one, as he could be a choice in the first round for the Niners. Gilbert can be electrifying at times, and has a knack for the big play, recording six interceptions and taking two back for touchdowns. Not only is Gilbert a stellar corner, he's a special teams stud as a kick returner, where he has a touchdown this season also. At 6'0" 200 lbs, Gilbert is a physical corner that has the chance to be a good pro if he can work on some of his weak areas. The two most notable areas of improvement would be taking better angles to the ball and not letting the receiver get a quick jump off the line when he isn't in press coverage.
