The Seattle Seahawks did it again. The Seahawks made the biggest comeback in franchise history, improving to 8-1 as they defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by a final score of 27-24. The Bucs jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the second quarter, but as the Seahawks slowly came back, there was a certain sense of inevitability to it. This win follows the Seahawks underwhelming 14-9 win over the Rams.

The Seahawks remain in first place in the NFC West, but they have work to do. Earlier today we had some thoughts from Field Gulls, in which they discussed the Seahawks need to improve. They are finding ways to win, but they will need to clean things up if they are going to make any noise in January.

The biggest concern for Seattle, and something that has to have the 49ers salivating, is the lack of any semblance of a run defense. The last two weeks has seen Seattle give up 158 rushing yards to Mike James, and 134 yards to Zac Stacy. The Seahawks did a great job containing the 49ers run game in Week 2, holding Frank Gore, Kendall Hunter and Anthony Dixon to 13 yards on 11 carries. Colin Kaepernick did have 87 rushing yards, but the traditional run game struggled.

That was also the last time it really struggled. The 49ers lost to Indianapolis the next week, but they abandoned a run game that was looking good early. Since then, the 49ers have run like crazy and dominated. I have to think we'll see more of that in Week 14 when these two teams meet.

There is still five weeks until the 49ers and Seahawks meet up. Both teams will look different, with players returning from injuries, and adjustments to be made. The 49ers are likely to be favorites in the game, and with good reason. However, who knows what we can expect from these Seahawks. They have struggled with consistency issues, but they've found ways to win. We'll see what Week 14 brings!
