The San Francisco 49ers and Carolina Panthers released their first practice participation reports of Week 10, and we have a few notable names to discuss. In case you missed it, I posted a table of the Week 1 through 8 injury reports. Ray McDonald and Justin Smith were both limited on Wednesday, which comes after three straight weeks of sitting out Wednesday practices. This bodes well for their "recovery", although I suspect both will get some Wednesdays off in the future.
The most notable name not appearing is defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey. The 49ers nose tackle suffered a hamstring strain in Week 6. He sat out two practices in Week 7, and one practice in Week 8. He was listed as questionable each week, was active on game day, but saw a decrease in snaps as the team platooned along the line. This week, he is not listed at all. This strikes me as a pretty big deal. Dorsey has been a big contributor, particularly with the loss of Ian Williams, so it's good to get him back near 100 percent.
Mario Manningham and Tank Carradine are not on the injury report either. I wasn't expecting either there, but you never know what was going to happen when they came off the PUP and NFI lists. This is a good sign in particular that Manningham will be active on Sunday.
