Week Eleven College Football Open Thread: LSU, Alabama

We take a look at the college football schedule and the game of the week.

Yes, there is college football being played today. I was confused myself momentarily, as the biggest game of the weak was already played Thursday, when Stanford grinded out a win against Oregon.

Only one match up will be taking place featuring ranked opponents, No. 13 LSU at No. 1 Alabama. Besides that, only one other team in the top five will be playing (No. 2 Florida State at Wake Forest).

Game of the Week- No. 13 LSU at No. 1 Alabama

A.J. McCarron looks to keep on doing what he always does, win. Throughout his career, he's been coined a game manager and a product of the Alabama system. NFL.com's Bucky Brooks disagrees and believes he can be an outstanding player in the right system.

LSU has two receivers, juniors Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr.,  who have accounted for sixteen of the teams nineteen receiving touchdowns. Both players could declare for the draft at the end of the year.

Tigers running back Jeremy Hill looks to have a big day, as he is still haunted from the loss to Bama last year. Hill has had a heck of a year thus far, piling up 922 yards and 12 touchdowns, while averaging 7.2 yards per carry in just eight games. NFL Scouts believe he could be a "bell cow" at the next level, and I agree. At 6'2" 235 lbs, he is powerful, but also has speed and shiftiness to make big plays happen. LSU would be wise to lean on hill heavily in this game and keep Alabama's offense off the field.
