Golden Nuggets: Tank Carradine Moved to IR; More Roster Moves

Wednesday, December 11, 2013 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of 49ers links from around the web.

Brian Bahr

Hey, everyone. It's my first day back from an extended hiatus. You may know by now, but my wife Lucy and I welcomed Quincy Michael Malone into the world on December 2nd. Everything went well. He's doing great, Lucy is doing great and I'm missing sleep, but am otherwise fine. He was born hours before the kickoff of the Rams game (we're a day ahead in Australia if you're wondering why the dates don't match up) and while his mother rested and recovered, he and I watched the 49ers stick it to St Louis. This week we watched the 49ers handle the Seahawks. The Niners are 2-0 in the Quincy era. Not bad...

As for the "real" news, Tank Carradine was shut down for the season. Things seemed like they were being delayed from the start with Carradine. One report stated that the 49ers practically returned his rehab to the beginning upon his arrival to the team. He was activated from IR about a month ago and anticipation built. However, while every other 49er who'd spent time on the injury lists had now made it back, Tank remained sidelined. Something didn't add up and doubt set in (at least in my mind). Now he's shelved until next year. The 49ers signed G Ryan Seymour to their 53-man roster from the Seahawks practice squad, presumably as insurance for our banged up OL. They also added WR Devon Wylie to their practice squad. Michael Thomas was signed by the Dolphins from our practice squad. Busy day!

And here's the news that Michael Thomas will finally get to see a 53-man roster. Good luck to him going forward, he was a PS standout. And, who knows, the Dolphins might be making a playoff run. | Source: Dolphins lure practice-squad safety Thomas to Miami (Barrows)

BASG GIFs

How is it that BASG GIFs gets its own section? Well, when BASG goes buck-nutty-bonkers-bananas on the GIF machine, that's when. There are gems to be found throughout, but I particularly like the SEA holding ones, especially in light of Richard Sherman's "refs gave the Niners the game" accusation, and the one of Pete Carroll wearing a top hat, smugly strutting the sidelines.

Lingering 49ers - Seahawks News

Gin gives you his notes from the big win over the weekend. Great job by the San Francisco pass rush at maintaining lanes and keeping Russell Wilson in the pocket, even if they didn't tally many sacks. He also notes that Mario Manningham had a particularly poor outing. | 49ers vs. Seahawks Film Review: Pass rush kept Wilson in check (Gin)

49ers at Bucs

You have to think Eric Wright is thrilled. He got an easy interception on the last real play of the game on Sunday and he escaped the train wreck that was the Bucs season. Though, they don't look so train wreck-y at the moment. | 49ers notebook: Cornerback Eric Wright is set to face his former team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Inside Bay Area)
