The San Francisco 49ers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers released their inactives and we have some surprises. The 49ers have deactivated tight end Vance McDonald as he is dealing with an ankle issue. They have activated Garrett Celek who had been dealing with a hamstring issue. I imagine Celek will be the primary backup to Vernon Davis, with Derek Carrier behind him.

Tarell Brown is active for the first time in several weeks. He suffered a rib injury against the New Orleans Saints, and was questionable this week. Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio has said the team will work Brown back in a manner similar to Aldon Smith earlier this season. In that instance, Dan Skuta remained the starter, while Smith worked his way back to starter reps. For the secondary, Carlos Rogers and Tramaine Brock will likely remain the starters, with Eric Wright as the primary nickel back. I could see the team slowly rotating Brown back into the mix as we work through the rest of the regular season.

Here are your complete inactives.

49ers inactives: WR Quinton Patton, LB Nick Moody, G Ryan Seymour, DT Quinton Dial, G Mike Iupati, WR Jon Baldwin, TE Vance McDonald

Bucs inactives: CB Deveron Carr, FB/RB Lonnie Pryor, S Bradley McDougald, LB Danny Lansanah, G Patrick Omameh, G Carl Nicks, DT Gary Gibson
