Vernon Davis catches deep touchdown, runs into wall

We take a look at Vernon Davis' touchdown that resulted in him running into the wall.

The San Francisco 49ers are showing some great things on offense, as they have took a 17-0 lead in the second quarter against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The second touchdown came courtesy of a 52-yard touchdown pass from Colin Kaepernick to Vernon Davis. That has since been followed by a Vincent Jackson touchdown to cut the lead to 17-7.

Davis blew past safety Mark Barron and hauled in the deep ball from Kap. It was a pintpoint pass from Kap, who ended the drive 11 of 13 for 148 yards and two touchdowns on the day. The one downside to the catch was that Vernon Davis ran into the wall beyond the end zone, hitting it pretty hard.

Davis was running full speed on the catch, and there is not much room between the end zone and the wall. The good news is that Davis did get up and walk off the field with a bit of a smile. Hopefully when he went down it was more just part of the celebration.

The 49ers will get the ball to start the second half.
