Well, Monday Night Football certainly finished strong. After a dull start to the game, Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker booted the Baltimore Ravens to an unbelievable 18-16 win over the Detroit Lions. Tucker was responsible for all the Ravens points, and I'm pretty sure he'll be taking home AFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
The loss is a huge blow to the Lions, who drop a game back of the Chicago Bears in the NFC North, and a half game back of the Green Bay Packers. The Lions hold the tiebreaker against the Bears, but they are going to need some help to get back on top.
There are still two huge weeks worth of games remaining, so the playoff picture can still get jumbled. For now though, here is how things look for the playoff seeds:
No. 1 Seattle Seahawks vs. BYE
No. 2 New Orleans Saints vs. BYE
No. 3 Philadelphia Eagles vs. No 6 San Francisco 49ers
No. 4 Chicago Bears vs. No 5. Carolina Panthers
So much of this can change as soon as next week. If the 49ers defeat the Atlanta Falcons, they are guaranteed to climb into the No. 5 seed. The loser of the Saints-Panthers Week 16 matchup drops to the No. 6 seed. If they tie, the Panthers would drop to the No. 6 seed because they would be 0-1-1 against the Saints.
The third-seeded Eagles host the 8-6 Bears in a huge matchup for both teams. Meanwhile the Lions host the Giants. The Bears close the season hosting the Green Bay Packers, but if they drop their game against the Eagles, it opens the door for the Lions. The NFC North is going to be coming down to the wire.
For now, we head into Week 16 a little bit closer to figuring out the final picture, but with plenty of jumbling to be done.
