Week 16 AM game thread

New, comments

We take a look at some of the notable Week 16 AM games, and open a thread for discussion.

The San Francisco 49ers don't get back in action until Monday, but there is plenty of interesting football to enjoy today. The biggest game of the afternoon does not kick off until 1:05 p.m. PT when the Seahawks host the Cardinals. In the meantime, we've still got moderately meaningful football.

The biggest game of the morning slate is Panthers vs. Saints. It only matters to the 49ers if San Francisco wins, but assuming the 49ers can take care of business against the Falcons on Monday, the loser of this game will drop a game behind the 49ers in the race for the five seed.

On the AFC side, the Kansas City Chiefs host the Indianapolis Colts in a potential playoff preview. If the playoffs started today, the Colts would actually host the Chiefs in the wildcard round. This game won't tell us all we need to know about this matchup, but the process we see between these two teams will be interesting to track.

We'll be back later this afternoon with a PM game thread.
