The San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks released their inactives, and as expected, Joe Staley is ACTIVE for the Week 14 contest. Staley suffered a sprained MCL last week against the Rams, but it clearly was a modest sprain. He sat out Wednesday's practice, but was back in limited form Thursday and Friday. Staley and the rest of the 49ers offensive line face a solid challenge from the Seahawks defensive front depth. We'll see how his knee holds up to the challenge.
Wide receiver Quinton Patton is inactive as the 49ers will once again go with four wide receivers. If they go four-wide, it usually involves at least one tight end, so it is not a surprise that the rookie will sit out the game.
Cornerback Tarell Brown is inactive as well. Matt Maiocco is reporting Brown told the media he was instructed not to disclose the exact nature of his injury. It has been reported as a rib injury, but "internal injury" seems to be the best description for now. Brown said it was diagnosed as a 4-to-6 week injury. Today marks three weeks since he suffered the injury, so he is probably going to miss at least another game or two.
