Week 14 comes to a close tonight with Monday Night Football featuring the Dallas Cowboys and the Chicago Bears. This game has notable implications in the playoff race. The Bears have a chance to move into a tie with the Detroit Lions at the top of the NFC North. The Lions hold the tiebreaker due to head-to-head record. The Cowboys have a chance to move into a tie with the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East. The Cowboys hold the tiebreaker due to head-to-head record.

As 49ers fans, we are always rooting against the Cowboys. However, today it's even more pertinent. The Eagles win yesterday keeps them a game back of the 49ers in the wildcard race. If the Cowboys win, they'll both be a game back of the 49ers. If the Cowboys lose, the 49ers gain even more breathing room. They'll still be a game up on Arizona, but they'll have space between the next closest team. Arizona heads up to Seattle in a couple weeks, and we'd like a Cardinals win at this point, but their chances are fairly long in that regard.

We'll be back after the game with an updated playoff picture.
