Day three of the NFL Combine saw running backs get measured up with their height, weight and hand size. They will get into their drills on Sunday, but in the meantime, we get to figure out what to make of the backs that might be too light, too heavy or just right.

The 49ers are in an interesting position at running back. Frank Gore has been the team's work-horse back, but the last two years we have seen the team work in other backs more frequently. Kendall Hunter had a solid rookie campaign, and was having an even better second season before tearing his Achilles. His injury opened the door for rookie second round pick LaMichael James to show off his skills in the latter part of the 2012 season.
As the 49ers move forward, the question becomes what to make of the running back position. Frank Gore will not last forever, but are Hunter and James the answer? Or do the 49ers need to go to a three-headed monster? And don't forget about Anthony Dixon. Although Dixon has not gotten a lot of carries, he showed enough improvement, that maybe the team is ready to give him more of a role in the backfield.
For now, we wait and see what the team thinks of the numerous running backs out there. Here are their various measurements.
