So, about my previous Darrelle Revis post....
While I stand by my thoughts in that post, the 49ers might be disagreeing with that. According to Yahoo!'s Jason Cole, the 49ers are among the teams that have discussed pursuing Revis:
The 49ers are among a handful of teams that have discussed making a run at Revis this offseason, according to two sources. In fact, the 49ers are poised to make a run at Revis even if it's just for one season (although that could be problematic from Revis' standpoint).
The first sentence is easy to dismiss, but the second sentence is what would indicate the 49ers are taking a step forward on this. I still can't quite wrap my head around bringing in Revis, but I suppose that's my problem.
If the 49ers do decide they want to acquire Revis, the question then is how they might look to adjust the secondary around Revis. Does this mean Carlos Rogers is gone? Does this mean they move Chris Culliver to safety? It sounds like Revis would be a $6 million hit. The 49ers have the space to add him, and realistically they could potentially still extend Dashon Goldson with a small first year hit.
If the 49ers did acquire Darrelle Revis, how do you see the 49ers arranging their secondary around him?
