NFL Scouting Combine Invite List Announced

We take a quick look at what prospects were invited to the NFL Scouting Combine.

Brian Spurlock-US PRESSWIRE

Yesterday The NFL announced which players received invites to the NFL Scouting Combine, which will take place February 20-26. 333 players in all snagged invitations to the combine in Indianapolis. Almost all of the big names will be participating, and of course there will be some names you may not have heard of at all. Stocks will rise and fall, which makes for an interesting, in what we all hope will be an exciting offseason.

There are a lot of prospects I want to see, but here are just some I'll be interested in seeing:

Phillip Thomas, FS, Fresno State: Great coverage safety, sound tackler as well.

Margus Hunt, DE, SMU: From Estonia, 6-8 278 lbs, probably will run a sub 4.7 40 yard dash. He's an animal.

Jordan Poyer, CB, Oregon State: Feisty corner who plays good man coverage, can he help his stock?

Justin Hunter, WR, Tennessee: Tall and fast, can get the jump ball.

Chris Gragg, TE, Arkansas: Delanie Walker clone (size, speed, physicality)

Aaron Mellette, WR, Elon: 113 receptions this season, big and quick at 6-4. Not a "big name", but could have big abilities.

Desmond Trufant, CB, Washington State: Helped his stock during the Senior Bowl, can lock himself into round one with a good combine.

Dustin Hopkins, K, Florida State: Best kicker in the draft, has a strong leg and awards to prove it.

We'll go into more depth leading up to combine week and will get into who to watch for. We'll also have daily combine reports and draft coverage for you leading up to pick number 31.

Looking at the list, who are you interested in seeing?
