The 49ers have been searching for secondary help this week, and one option is now gone, with another slip-sliding away. The Detroit Lions have confirmed that safety Louis Delmas has re-signed with the team. He visited with the 49ers on Thursday, but was unable to come to an agreement on a deal. There is no word if contract details were exchanged or not, but it doesn't matter at this point.
The 49ers have also been connected to Ed Reed. The former Ravens safety has been in Houston the last day and a half, talking with the Texans. Reed left the building earlier this afternoon, but talks are reportedly still continuing. Reed has some kind of prior engagement back home in Atlanta, so he is leaving Houston to deal with that.
As for the 49ers other negotiations? It sounds like there is still some life to the Nnamdi Asomugha and Charles Woodson pursuit, but beyond that it's hard to tell much:
@claytonespn also said the #49ers still looking at Charles Woodson and Nnamdi Asomugha. "There is the feeling it's a package deal"

It's hard to figure out where things stand between the 49ers and Woodson. After all, Woodson's agent said the two sides had not talked numbers as of early yesterday afternoon. Did they quickly turn it into a numbers discussion? All of this remains all over the place.
