The San Francisco 49ers returned to Santa Clara on Monday to begin their offseason workout program. There were tweets, pictures and video of the festivities.

The San Francisco 49ers returned to Santa Clara yesterday to begin the voluntary offseason workout program. "Returned" might not be the best word because numerous players were already around the facility the last few weeks working out on their own. Justin Smith, in particular, has been rehabbing his torn triceps muscle, and is expected to be ready for the start of training camp.

We do not have word on the total number of players in attendance, but we did see some shoutouts on Twitter. The 49ers and their PR staff tweeted out some quotations from players. Additionally, a few players sent tweets of their own.

The 49ers PR staff posted some pictures from Monday's workouts. We see plenty of players in attendance, and I have to imagine most of the players are at the facility. We'll keep an eye out for details on what players are in attendance. I can't quite make out everybody, but based on the pictures and Anthony Dixon's tweet, attendance includes:

Nnamdi Asomugha
Alex Boone
Tramaine Brock
Garrett Celek
Perrish Cox
Michael Crabtree
Chris Culliver
Vernon Davis
Glenn Dorsey
Chad Hall
Parys Haralson
LaMichael James
A.J. Jenkins (looks like him, but not positive)
Colin Kaepernick
Daniel Kilgore
Bruce Miller
Trenton Robinson
Joe Staley
Michael Thomas
Donte Whitner
Patrick Willis

Again, these are just the players we're seeing in the pictures and in the tweets. Plenty more are on hand.

The 49ers also posted some video to Vine.co, including this video of Alex Boone hitting the weights on Monday. The first two weeks of the program are strictly for strength, conditioning and rehab. The only coaches allowed are strength and conditioning coaches with no other coaching responsibilities.
