In early April, the NFL released the list of preseason opponents, but only provided time and date information for nationally broadcasted games. A few weeks later they released the regular season schedule. Today, we can put a bow on scheduling matters, as the NFL released a complete list of times and dates for the 2013 preseason (PDF). Here is your 49ers schedule:
Preseason Week |
Time (PST) |
Opponent |
Network |
Week 1 - August 8 |
6:00 p.m. |
vs. Denver |
CBS5 |
Week 2 - August 16 |

Week 3 - August 25 |

Week 4 - August 29 |

The Week 3 matchup vs. the Minnesota Vikings is nationally broadcast on Sunday Night Football. The rest of the schedule will be on CBS 5, which follows a recent ten-year extension between the 49ers and KPIX.
If you live outside the Bay Area and feel the need to watch preseason action, I would recommend purchasing NFL.com's Preseason Live package. I can't find the price off the top of my head, but it's not entirely unreasonable. Although, I suppose some would consider it entirely unreasonable to have to pay anything at all to watch preseason football.
Don't worry though. If you elect to skip the games, I'll be around to watch on your behalf. There's nothing quite like watching fourth stringers battling for a practice squad spot in the fourth quarter of an otherwise meaningless game. Good times will be had by all.
