So much for a quiet offseason. USA Today's Mike Garofolo is reporting 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree suffered a torn Achilles during organized team activities on Tuesday. He will soon undergo what is described as season-ending surgery.
That being said, as Garafolo pointed out, players have returned from torn Achilles in the same season. Garofolo pointed to Terrell Suggs and Da'Quan Bowers who suffered spring Achilles tears only to return late in the fall after starting the season on the physically unable to perform list.
The 49ers do not comment on injuries, so this is something we'll have to wait and see on for more information. We don't know the full details, but either way this sucks. There is nothing good out of this, but the 49ers do have a bevy of young receivers that will be leaned on heavily if Crabtree is in fact done for the year.
Site decorum is off. F$&%!!!!!
