Golden Nuggets: Quinton Patton is my hero

Friday, May 3rd, 2013 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of San Francisco 49ers links from around the Internet.

Bob Stanton-US PRESSWIRE

Quinton Patton is officially my hero. I love that he bought his own ticket to the Bay Area and tried to show up to the San Francisco 49ers' facilities. Unfortunately, all Patton reminds me of right now is the fact that the 49ers may have wasted a first-round pick last year by taking A.J. Jenkins.

Everything I've watched of Jenkins leads me to believe he can develop into an effective NFL receiver. But I think he has so far to go to this point, and that his ceiling isn't even that high. Now the 49ers draft Patton much later, and all the tape I'm watching on him leads me to believe he can contribute right away, and can even develop to be a No. 1 receiver down the line.

It's a rare mistake, in my opinion, of the Trent Baalke area. Onto the links for the day.
