Golden Nuggets: Marcus Lattimore has a bright future in San Francisco

Saturday, June 1st, 2013 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of San Francisco 49ers links from around the Internet.

It's good that the San Francisco 49ers got running back Marcus Lattimore under contract. The more work they can do with him and the more involved they can be in his continued rehab, the better. I really do think Lattimore is the future at running back, provided he can get back to form, and one of Kendall Hunter or LaMichael James will be the odd man out somewhere down the line.

For now though, I'm excited about Hunter. As stated in the past, I believe Hunter will have a breakout season and to this point, I haven't seen anything to convince me otherwise, save for the fact that he's coming off a pretty debilitating injury. I think he's got it in him, though.

Sorry for the super quick links yesterday -- on to your links for Saturday. Enjoy.

I'm all for giving LaMichael James the football more and more, to get him comfortable with it at the NFL level. I saw way too much hesitation from him last season, but that might be because he was never supposed to see the field in his rookie season. Him ending up being the punt returner next year would be just fine by me. | 49ers punt returner, 2013 edition: LaMichael James and Kyle Williams are the favorites (BA Sports Guy)

OK, so apparently spelling Nnamdi Asomugha's name correctly is a huge deal or something. I guess kudos to Colin Kaepernick or something? Also weird that the headline talks about an impressive week on the field but I don't see anything from OTAs ... | Kaepernick's impressive week on and off the field (Maiocco)

Anquan Boldin should not be receiving any extra snaps in practice, that's for sure. He needs to take the minimum require to have a solid grasp of the offensive playbook, and then he needs to sit and make sure he doesn't get injured. Lawrence Okoye is such an intriguing prospect. He's as raw as they get, and it's not like the NFL isn't already home to a plethora of genetic freaks (apologies to Big Poppa Pump for using the term), but Okoye is definitely up there on the list of "impressive specifimens." | Okoye: 'not here for fun', anxious to make the team (Gin)
