Over the last couple weeks, I have received numerous tweets inquiring about the 49ers annual Fanfest, and whether the team will have any open practices in Santa Clara. Last night, 49ers CEO Jed York tweeted out some helpful information on these topics:
#FanFest will be Aug 10. Details on tickets coming soon

Before the 49ers began construction on Lev's Stadium, they held a few open practices each August. This gave fans a chance to come down to Santa Clara and enjoy the 49ers practices before preseason action got underway. When construction began, the team discontinued the open practices due to the safety issues of a construction site next door.
The 49ers are expected to wrap up construction next summer, in time for the 2014 season. Based on York's tweet, it sounds like
Last year, I believe the 49ers held an open practice at their annual Fan Fest. Fanfest takes place at Candlestick Park, and last year provided fans a chance to check out the practice, and enjoy various other activities. I suspect this year's Fan Fest will be similar. Last year, the event was $5, with all the proceeds going to the 49ers Foundation. We'll have more details as they come available.
Will you be heading out to Fan Fest this year?
